Engineering Manager Data Platform
You lead, coach, and grow a team of data engineers while providing career guidance and fostering high performance. You define the data platform roadmap and quarterly objectives, participate in architecture reviews, drive CI/CD and data quality practices, lead recruitment, partner with data stakeholders, and translate technical challenges into business impact.
Responsibilities
- Manage, coach, and grow a team of data engineers
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings
- Provide career development guidance
- Define the data platform vision and quarterly objectives
- Participate in design reviews
- Ensure scalable and maintainable data lake, warehouse, and ETL architectures
- Drive CI/CD, data quality monitoring, and incident management
- Lead recruitment for the data engineering team
- Partner with data stakeholders across the company
- Translate technical challenges into business impact
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering
- Background with Python, SQL, Airflow, Dagster, BigQuery, Snowflake, Kafka, and Flink
- Experience with GCP or AWS cloud infrastructure
- Track record of delivering complex multi-quarter technical projects
- Ability to communicate technical challenges as business impact
- Experience with mentorship and engineer development
- Experience building data-driven cultures using metrics and rigorous testing
