Engineering Manager

We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to join an innovative product company from Slovakia building UAV solutions for commercial and scientific use. The team develops drone technologies used for real-world applications such as aerial imaging, monitoring, and other advanced operational scenarios.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining people leadership, delivery ownership, and technical depth in a product environment where engineering has a direct impact on what gets built.

Location: Bratislava, Slovakia
Work format: Office-based
Relocation support: full relocation package within the EU, including 100% coverage of relocation costs and legal support with residence permit / temporary refuge (TMS) paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a cross-functional engineering team across Software, IT, and QA
• Own delivery of engineering initiatives, ensuring strong execution, quality, and alignment with business goals
• Support hiring and team scaling, including interviewing and onboarding new engineers
• Drive engineering excellence across architecture, development practices, and team processes
• Conduct performance reviews, provide actionable feedback, and support team development

Requirements

• Experience leading or managing software engineering teams
• Strong software engineering background, ideally with exposure to embedded systems (C/C++) and/or Linux
• Ability to balance people management with delivery and technical discussions
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working in agile environments
• Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence
• Ukrainian level - native

Nice to have

• Experience with UAV / drone-related products or adjacent hardware-software systems
