Engineering Manager

Description

Our client is one of Qatar's leading Grade A construction companies with extensive experience in delivering major building and infrastructure developments across the State of Qatar.

As engineering manager, you will provide technical leadership across engineering activities, helping ensure that project design intent is translated effectively into delivery. This role is central to supporting constructability, aligning technical disciplines, and driving timely decisions that keep major building projects progressing smoothly.

The ideal candidate will bring strong GCC experience (preferably Qatar), proven leadership in complex building projects, and deep knowledge of consultant, authority, and client requirements including major stakeholders such as QatarEnergy and other industrial clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage all engineering and technical activities, ensuring design coordination, constructability, and timely resolution of technical issues.
• Review design drawings, shop drawings, RFIs, and technical submittals.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and client representatives.
• Ensure constructability, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications.
• Lead resolution of technical issues during construction.
• Monitor engineering deliverables and ensure alignment with project schedule.
• Support planning and execution teams with technical inputs.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams (civil, structural, MEP).
• Participate in progress meetings and provide engineering updates.
• Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with authority regulations and project standards.
• Maintain proper documentation of all engineering activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in building construction projects.
• GCC/Qatar experience preferred (Ras Laffan experience is an advantage).
• Strong experience in design coordination and consultant management.
• Knowledge of QatarEnergy/authority requirements (preferred).
• Valid MMUP/UPDA certification (preferred/mandatory if applicable).
• Strong leadership and communication skills in English.
