Engineering Manager Research Engineering
You own the research engineering roadmap, develop engineers through coaching and performance management, plan hiring and resource allocation, cultivate team health, translate technical and business requirements into delivery plans, coordinate with Engineering, Trading and Quant teams, manage delivery risks and improve team velocity.
Responsibilities
- Own the roadmap, priorities, planning, and work sequencing
- Develop engineers through career planning, coaching, promotions, and performance management
- Lead hiring, headcount planning, and resource allocation
- Manage team culture, morale, productivity, and conflict
- Hold regular one-on-ones and provide timely feedback
- Translate technical and business requirements into delivery plans
- Identify dependencies and risks
- Liaise between Engineering, Trading, and Quant teams
- Drive delivery predictability and manage scope trade-offs
- Report status to stakeholders
- Improve delivery processes and team velocity
- Align team work with organizational goals and timelines

- Technical or research background
- Experience leading and managing applied researchers and software engineers

- Ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders
- Based in Amsterdam or willing to relocate
