Reporting to the Architecture & Data Manager, you'll understand Mercury's strategy and goals well enough to frame technology recommendations around business outcomes, not just technical merit. • Engaging early in the delivery lifecycle, shifting left to guide decisions before they harden
  • Defining and maintaining reference architectures and patterns, and recommending appropriate technologies with stakeholder endorsement
  • Developing conceptual solution models aligned to business needs and technology roadmaps
  • Providing support to ensure solution architecture designs align with reference architectures and patterns, and are well-documented
  • Supporting delivery planning, estimation, and risk management
  • Contributing to Mercury's technology standards, policies, and governance processes
  • Actively contributing to the architecture community to grow capability across Mercury

Mōu | About you:

  • Tertiary qualification in information systems, engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years in a commercial IT environment, including at least 2 years as a solution architect for complex, enterprise-grade solutions
  • Thorough understanding of software design best practices, application development lifecycle, and infrastructure (on-premises and cloud)
  • Proficiency in modelling notations (e.g. UML, ArchiMate, BPMN), agile delivery methodologies, and design/documentation tools (e.g. EA Sparx, Archi, Lucidchart)
  • The ability to translate technical concepts into clear, business-relevant language for stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience contributing to a community of practice, with a genuine interest in growing capability in others
  • A curious, adaptable mindset - you take ownership, connect well across teams, and do what's right for the people you work with
