Job Summary
The Events Sales Executive will actively identify new business opportunities, conduct site inspections, and promote the Hotel’s facilities and services to maximise overall revenue.
Responsibilities
- Achieve or exceed individual sales targets set by the Director of Sales & Marketing to drive hotel revenue growth.
- Identify and generate new business opportunities for meetings, conferences, weddings, social events, and other hotel event spaces.
- Follow up promptly on all event enquiries and business leads to maximise conversion rates.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with key clients and potential accounts within designated market segments.
- Conduct regular sales calls, client meetings, entertainment, and networking activities to expand event business.
- Arrange and conduct site inspections for potential and existing clients to showcase event spaces and services.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of competitors’ event spaces, products, packages, and market activities to inform sales strategies.
- Upsell and cross-sell the hotel’s event spaces, accommodation, Food & Beverage offerings, and other facilities at every opportunity.
- Attend client functions, industry events, and external business activities to increase visibility and develop new business opportunities.
- Understand clients’ event requirements and recommend suitable venues, packages, and services tailored to their needs.
- Prepare accurate proposals, contracts, and relevant event documentation within required timelines.
- Coordinate closely with clients from initial enquiry through event confirmation to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Maintain accurate and updated client profiles, event information, and sales activities in the hotel’s sales system.
- Liaise with Banquet, Food & Beverage, Culinary, Front Office, and other departments to ensure event arrangements meet client requirements.
- Communicate event requirements and special arrangements clearly to operational teams to guarantee flawless execution.
- Prepare and highlight VIP arrivals or special requirements to Management and operational departments.
- Follow up with clients before, during, and after events to ensure service expectations are met and issues are resolved.
- Provide after-sales service and maintain client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Tourism, Events Management, Business, Sales & Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in hotel events, catering sales, conference services, weddings, or a similar role.
- Previous experience in a hotel environment is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and results-driven with strong teamwork skills to collaborate across departments.
