Reporting to: Matt Williams, Finance Systems Lead
Contract term: This is a 12-18-month fixed term contract position on Crick terms and conditions of employment.
Working Pattern: Monday-Friday; 9.00am-5.15pm – Hybrid 3 days per week in the office

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Systems Analyst to help develop, support and continuously improve the systems that underpin Finance at the Crick.
Reporting to the Finance Systems Lead, you will work with the Finance Functional Leads and collaborate closely with People Systems, IT and ERP teams. Workday Financials will be at the heart of the role, alongside systems including Adaptive Planning, Worktribe, Power BI and Excel. Whilst you might not have experience with Workday, you must have experience with an equivalent finance system.
You will take ownership of day-to-day systems issues, troubleshoot complex problems and deliver system enhancements and projects that improve how our teams work. You will also help shape the longer-term development of our finance systems roadmap.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines a strong finance background with systems expertise, project management experience and a passion for making processes work better.
What you will be doing
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and supporting finance systems projects, enhancements and implementations.
- Managing system configuration, business processes, reporting, security and standing data.
- Supporting the day-to-day administration and continuous improvement of Workday Financials.
- Troubleshooting and resolving system, integration and user issues.
- Supporting testing for upgrades, integrations and systems changes.
- Working with Finance teams to improve processes, documentation and user guidance.
- Providing training and support to Finance colleagues and the wider Crick community.
- Collaborating across Finance, People Systems, IT and external system partners to deliver effective solutions.

About you
You will have:
(Minimum criteria *)
Essential:
- A strong finance background, gained through professional qualification, part-qualification or equivalent practical experience. *
- Current experience administering an ERP/accounting system, such as Workday Financials.. *
- Strong experience managing projects within a finance systems or technology environment.
- Experience configuring and supporting business processes, reporting, security and system governance. *
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex systems issues. *
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- A collaborative, customer-focused approach with the confidence to work independently and take ownership of priorities.
Desirable:
- Recognised Workday Financials qualifications.
- Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning or other financial planning and reporting technologies.
