Financial Analyst

Join our FP&A team as a Financial Analyst! As a key member of the FP&A team, you’ll support budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and management reporting across the organization. You’ll work closely with Finance and business partners to turn financial and operational data into meaningful insights that support better business decisions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with financial and operational data, thrives in a fast-paced and evolving environment, and is eager to develop their skills in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and business partnering.

This role is based at our Home Office, located in Calgary, Alberta.

What You'll Do

  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, working with FP&A team members and business stakeholders to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and consolidate financial information
  • Prepare and maintain financial forecasts and models, incorporating actual results, business trends, and operational assumptions
  • Perform monthly and quarterly variance analysis, identifying key drivers of financial performance and highlighting patterns, variances, risks, and opportunities
  • Support monthly and quarterly business reviews by preparing financial analysis, management reporting, and commentary on performance against budget and forecast
  • Analyze financial performance across 400+ locations and a manufacturing facility by integrating financial and operational data to identify performance drivers, KPIs and opportunities to improve profitability
  • Develop and maintain reporting and analytical tools using Excel, Power BI and Power Query, improving the efficiency and accessibility of financial information
  • Support the automation and continuous improvement of financial reporting and FP&A processes to reduce manual workload and improve accuracy
  • Extract, transform, validate, and analyze data from financial and operational systems, including NetSuite and OneStream, ensuring data integrity and consistency across reporting
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and other business teams to support financial analysis and business initiatives
  • Assist with financial modeling, scenario analysis, and business cases to support operational and investment decisions
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and deep dives to support FP&A and senior leadership initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and organizational goals

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • CPA or CFA Professional Finance designation completed or in progress is considered an asset
  • 2–4 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, or corporate finance
  • Experience with EPM applications (OneStream, Hyperion, etc.) BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
  • Strong data manipulation skills, including Excel (Power Query)
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis
  • Ability to set and achieve goals based on alignment with business objectives
  • Ability to handle pressure and meet tight deadlines in an environment with a high volume of activity, while being detailed, organized and thorough
  • Ability to approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to build positive relationships and fosters company culture
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team player with a growth mindset, able to manage changing priorities effectively
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset
