Founding Engineer
About the Role
This is a Founding Engineer opportunity at an early-stage startup in San Francisco, where you'll be one of the first engineers shaping the product from the ground up. You'll work in a small, high-ownership team where your technical decisions and product instincts will have an outsized impact on the company's trajectory.
What You'll Do
Build and own end-to-end product features across the full stack, from initial concept through to production.
Contribute meaningfully to product direction, working closely with founders and early team members.
Make foundational architecture decisions that will scale with the company.
Move fast in a 0-to-1 environment, iterating on ideas and shipping with a high degree of autonomy.
What We're Looking For
3–7 years of full-stack software development experience.
Proven experience building products end-to-end at an early-stage startup, ideally in a 0-to-1 context.
Comfortable owning both frontend and backend development.
Strong product sense and the ability to influence product direction, not just execute on specs.
Strong CS fundamentals, ideally from a rigorous academic program.
Based in San Francisco, CA, or willing to relocate.
Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Prior experience at a high-growth startup or large-scale technology company is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $200,000 – $300,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
