Founding Engineer (Full Stack)

About the Role

This is a founding engineering role at an early-stage construction technology startup using AI and computer vision to automate blueprint analysis, material takeoffs, and cost estimation. You'll be among the first engineers on the team, with direct influence over the product, architecture, and culture at a critical moment in the company's growth.

What You'll Do

• Build polished, intuitive UIs that surface computer vision model outputs to end users.

• Solve complex challenges involving geometric data, streaming systems, and sophisticated user interactions.

• Ship prototypes rapidly and iterate on them based on continuous real-world user feedback.

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience taking products from 0 to 1, ideally with proven traction or paying customers.

• Strong frontend foundation in React and TypeScript, with full-stack capabilities.

• Proficiency in Python and comfort with open-ended, math-oriented problems.

• Solid CS fundamentals; an exceptional project portfolio can stand in for a formal degree.

• Prior experience as a founding engineer or early employee at a startup.

• Familiarity with Tailwind CSS for building responsive, utility-first UIs is a plus.

• Background in construction, real estate, or PDF workflows is a plus.

• Outstanding communication skills marked by empathy and directness.

• Previous founder experience or an impact-driven mindset is a bonus.

• Exceptional new graduates with strong hustle and a fast learning curve are also welcome.

• US citizenship required — visa sponsorship is not available.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $100,000 – $180,000 USD annually. Equity participation expected at this stage. No visa sponsorship available.

Location

On-site in San Francisco, CA, five days a week.
