Frontend Developer

The Frontend Developer is responsible for building and maintaining the user-facing features of the platform. They ensure that the app or website is visually engaging, responsive across devices, and easy to navigate. Their role involves translating UI/UX designs into functional interfaces, integrating interactive elements (feeds, chats, notifications), optimizing performance for speed and scalability, and collaborating with backend developers to deliver seamless user experiences.
This is a hybrid role based in Ghana
Duties:
- Convert design prototypes into responsive, interactive, and visually appealing user interfaces.
- Build and maintain key social media features such as feeds, stories, notifications, chat/messaging, and profile pages.
- Ensure the platform functions seamlessly across different browsers, devices, and screen sizes.
- Improve speed, scalability, and overall responsiveness of the application for a smooth user experience.
- Work with backend developers to integrate data and services (e.g., user posts, media uploads, friend requests).
- Identify and resolve UI issues, bugs, and cross-browser inconsistencies.
- Ensure the platform is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities, following global accessibility standards.
- Partner with backend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver cohesive features.
Requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills
- BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3-5 years of relative experience in frontend development
- Knowledge of mobile-first and cross-browser compatibility practices.
- Ability to translate UI/UX wireframes into functional code.
- Proficient in the use of Kotlin
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
