Full Stack Developer (React / Java)
About the role
Exedee is looking for a passionate and experienced Full Stack Developer to join our growing technology team. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong passion for modern frontend web development and enjoys building intuitive, responsive, and scalable user interfaces using React and related technologies, while also having solid backend development experience using Java.
You will take the lead in driving the frontend architecture and user experience across our next generation SaaS platform, while working closely with our existing Java backend developer to build and integrate new features. Although your primary focus will be frontend development, you will also contribute to backend development and become familiar with our Java-based applications to provide support, enhancements, and bug fixes when required.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated Full Stack Developer with a passion for building modern, intuitive web applications and delivering high-quality software solutions. You will have strong frontend expertise in React while also possessing an understanding of Java backend development, enabling you to contribute across the full technology stack.
You will be comfortable taking ownership of frontend development while collaborating closely with the existing backend developer and the wider technology team to deliver scalable, maintainable SaaS applications.
Beyond technical capability, you will be an excellent communicator who enjoys solving business problems, working with customers and stakeholders, and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Key responsibilities
Lead the design and development of modern, responsive web applications using React and contemporary frontend technologies.
Build reusable UI components and establish frontend standards, best practices, and architecture.
Collaborate closely with backend developers to integrate RESTful APIs and deliver seamless end-to-end functionality.
Develop backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot where required.
Work alongside our existing backend developer to support and enhance our Java-based applications.
Participate in designing scalable software architecture and technical solutions.
Collaborate with Business Analysts, Software Testers, Product Owners and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code following industry best practices.
Participate in code reviews and mentor team members on frontend development standards and modern web technologies.
Troubleshoot, debug and resolve software defects across both frontend and backend components.
Assisting with deployment, configuration and maintenance of production and development environments.
Working across Windows Server's and Linux environments where required.
Assisting with software upgrades, patching and platform maintenance activities.
Supporting DevOps activities, including build pipelines, deployments and release management.
Supporting Java-based backend services and platform applications.
About you
You are someone who can demonstrate experience and a willingness to develop skills in the below areas along with the mandatory frontend and backend development skills:
Proven commercial experience (3+ years preferred) as a Full Stack Developer or Frontend Developer with backend development experience.
Strong commercial experience developing modern web applications using React, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
Experience with modern frontend tooling and responsive design principles.
Experience consuming and integrating RESTful APIs.
Experience developing backend applications using Java.
Experience with Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks is highly desirable.
Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns.
Experience with Git, GitLab and modern source control practices.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Strong understanding of application security, authentication and authorisation concepts.
Ability to maintain and enhance internal platform services, including authentication, integration and supporting microservices.
