Full-Stack Software Engineer – SaaS Platform & AI Integrations

VirtuStaff is seeking a hands-on Full-Stack Software Engineer to join its Jordan-based pre-launch team and progressively bring the development and technical management of its SaaS platform in-house.

The successful candidate will initially work closely with VirtuStaff’s third-party technical team to complete a structured handover of the existing codebase, architecture, database, cloud environment, integrations and release processes. The engineer will gradually assume responsibility for resolving software defects, modifying workflows, developing new features, managing integrations, supporting releases and maintaining the platform’s day-to-day technical performance.

The role also includes supporting and improving VirtuStaff’s AI-enabled features, including candidate screening, profile analysis, candidate-to-role matching and workflow automation. These are practical product-level AI functions rather than advanced artificial-intelligence research. The engineer should be comfortable integrating AI services, managing prompts and structured outputs, troubleshooting AI-related workflows and working with external AI APIs or models.

The engineer will contribute across VirtuStaff’s candidate, client, HR, attendance, training, CRM and administrative systems while collaborating with the Founders, Operations, HR, Sales, Marketing and external technical partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete a structured handover from the existing third-party development team.
• Understand and document the platform’s front end, back end, database, architecture, infrastructure and integrations.
• Develop, test and release new platform features.
• Modify existing candidate, client, HR, attendance, training and administrative workflows.
• Diagnose and directly fix front-end, back-end, API, integration and database-related defects.
• Gradually assume responsibility for routine platform development and maintenance.
• Maintain and enhance AI-enabled candidate screening and matching workflows.
• Integrate external AI APIs, language models or approved AI services into the platform.
• Configure and improve prompts, structured outputs, validation rules and AI workflow logic.
• Investigate inaccurate, missing, delayed or inconsistent AI-screening and matching results.
• Work with HR and Management to translate approved candidate-matching rules into technical workflows.
• Monitor AI-service errors, response quality, usage and integration performance.
• Maintain safeguards so AI recommendations do not automatically replace approved human decisions.
• Build and maintain CRM, email, analytics, payment, notification and third-party integrations.
• Review application logs, browser errors, API responses and database records.
• Maintain source code using Git, appropriate branching, version control and release documentation.
• Support cloud environments, deployments, monitoring, backups and technical configuration.
• Conduct UAT, regression testing, code reviews and post-release checks.
• Apply appropriate authentication, permissions, privacy and data-security controls.
• Maintain technical documentation, system diagrams and deployment instructions.
• Coordinate with external developers when additional expertise or capacity is required.
• Recommend improvements to platform security, reliability, performance and scalability.

Skills

• Three to six years of professional full-stack software-development experience.
• Experience developing and maintaining production web applications.
• Strong front-end and back-end programming capability.
• Experience working with relational databases and SQL.
• Strong API, webhook and third-party integration experience.
• Experience using Git, repositories, branches, pull requests and release processes.
• Strong browser, server, database and integration debugging ability.
• Familiarity with cloud hosting, deployment environments, monitoring and application logs.
• Experience taking over or maintaining an existing codebase developed by another team.
• Understanding of authentication, user roles, permissions, MFA and secure data handling.
• Experience conducting UAT, regression testing and post-release verification.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable and documented code.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Strong English communication; Arabic is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work full-time from VirtuStaff’s Jordan office.

AI-Related Experience

The candidate should also have at least some experience with:

• Integrating AI or large-language-model APIs into web applications.
• Working with tools or services such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Google AI, AWS AI services or equivalent platforms.
• Sending application data to an AI service and processing structured responses.
• Prompt configuration and prompt-version management.
• JSON-based AI outputs and response validation.
• AI-assisted classification, scoring, matching or recommendation workflows.
• Handling AI errors, timeouts, incomplete responses and inconsistent results.
• Protecting personal or confidential data when working with AI services.
• Combining AI recommendations with human review and business rules.

Preferred but Not Mandatory

• Experience with recruitment technology, HR platforms, marketplaces or applicant-tracking systems.
• Experience developing candidate-matching, recommendation or ranking features.
• Familiarity with embeddings, semantic search or vector databases.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD and cloud security.
• Basic knowledge of Python for AI-service integrations or data processing.
• Experience with AI monitoring, evaluation or prompt testing.
