Fundamental Analyst – Convertible Arbitrage Strategy

The D. E. Shaw group seeks an exceptional investment analyst to join its Convertibles team in Singapore, supporting investing efforts in the Asia Pacific region. The Convertible Arbitrage Strategy (CAS) team, makes discretionary investments in convertible securities, equities, options, corporate bonds, and credit derivatives. What you'll do day-to-day

This analyst will be responsible for conducting due diligence on existing and potential investments and will be expected over time to help with idea generation across all of the team’s Asia-Pacific fundamental investing efforts.

Who we're looking for

• Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or higher along with an impressive record of academic and professional achievement, excellent communication skills, and minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in an investment banking, consulting, alternative asset management, long-only management, or private equity role.
• Relevant investing / research experience in equities and/or credit.
• A passion for investing is essential, as is a demonstrated aptitude for financial modeling and analysis.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, in-depth market knowledge, a collaborative mindset, and sound commercial judgment are of particular importance.
• As there will be frequent interactions with colleagues, brokers and stakeholders based in global locations including the United States and Mainland China, fluency in Mandarin and English is required.
