General Counsel

Kultakiertue is the market leader and pioneer in the purchasing and evaluation of precious metals, especially gold and silver. More than 100 professionals work within our unique service concept, and we are now expanding fast across Europe. To support that growth, we are building out our legal function from the ground up, and we need a senior lawyer to lead it.

We are looking for an experienced General Counsel to join our leadership team in Helsinki.

Role description

As General Counsel, you will be our first in-house senior legal hire and the primary legal authority across the group. You will own contract negotiation, intercompany structuring, and the regulatory work that comes with entering new European markets.

This is not a role for someone who lists reasons why things cannot be done. Precious metal purchasing is a regulated business, and the rules differ from country to country. We need a lawyer who can read a regulatory situation, weigh the risk, and help the business find a way through it.

You will work with external counsel across multiple jurisdictions and, over time, may build a small internal team.

Your key responsibilities

• Owning all legal matters across the group's European operations

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, partnership agreements, and intercompany agreements

• Leading M&A work as we acquire and integrate gold stores across European markets

• Managing external legal counsel in each country of operation

• Advising on marketing law, including competitive claims and regulatory compliance

• Supporting regulatory approvals and authority communications in new markets

• Handling litigation or dispute resolution as it arises

• Advising the leadership team on legal risk and how it should shape business decisions

What we expect from you

• A law degree and the right to practice in Finland

• Solid experience in corporate and commercial contract law, from an in-house role or a law firm

• M&A experience: you have worked on acquisitions or investments and know what it takes to close a deal

• Experience handling legal matters across multiple jurisdictions or subsidiaries

• Familiarity with regulatory environments, so you can tell the difference between a real blocker and one that can be worked around

• A solution-oriented mindset

• Finnish and English fluency

• You will need to be based in Helsinki. The role is hybrid but office-oriented.

• Experience in financial services law, marketing law, or precious metals would be a bonus, though we do not expect all three.
