Principle Purpose of Job
The Assistant Restaurant Manager at Heck’s Tavern oversees restaurant operations, including dining areas, bars, coffee shops, and catering. This role involves supervising daily activities, assisting with menu planning, maintaining sanitation standards, and supporting both front and back of house teams during meal periods and high-demand times. The Assistant Restaurant Manager strives to improve guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing financial performance and implementing necessary training programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage employees, handling daily operations and performing duties in employees' absence.
- Maintain service and sanitation standards in restaurant and bar/lounge areas.
- Review staffing levels to ensure guest service, operational needs, and financial goals are met.
- Provide support to direct reports within Devil’s Thumb Ranch.
- Lead and encourage team members, fostering mutual trust and cooperation.
- Identify and provide coaching and mentoring to improve skills and knowledge.
- Develop and prioritize specific goals and plans to accomplish work efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with food & beverage policies, standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Handle guest problems and complaints, ensuring follow-up and continuous improvement.
- Conduct human resource activities, including hiring, termination, performance reviews, and training.
- Oversee financial aspects, including purchasing, budgeting, and payroll.
