Human Resources Coordinator
Scope of Position
The primary responsibility of the Coordinator is to provide clerical/administrative support to one or more functional areas of Human Resources such as recruitment, engagement, benefits, and training to ensure a smooth operation of the office.
Position Requirements
- Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment.
- Minimum of 1 + year of Human Resources or related experience in a large complex/luxury property preferred.
- Ability to interact effectively with Associates at all levels of the organization.
- Previous HRIS experience.
- Knowledge of employment laws preferred.
Responsibilities
- Welcomes and assists any visitors to the Human Resources office, handling inquiries whenever possible.
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
- Administer office duties to include, but not limited to, answering telephone calls, processing mail, filing, processing invoices and ordering office supplies.
- Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
- Prepares new-employee files.
- Assists with employee engagement and community service events as needed.
- Completes assignments and projects in a timely manner.
- Assist with pre-employment paperwork to include drug test, background screening and employment references.
- Schedule new employees for new hire paperwork and orientation.
- Ensures I-9 compliance is up to date; ensures timely renewal of work authorization documents in accordance with federal laws.
- Assist the Human Resources department with on campus recruitment and job fairs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Human Resources Managers.
Education
- 2-year degree from an accredited university; 2 years’ experience in the human resources or related professional area; certified trainer.
OR
- 4-year bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.
- Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and work independently.
- Experience using computers and software programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Physical Requirements
- Sit or stand at a desk for long periods of time.
- Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk.
- Use telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis.
- Must be physically fit in order to lift, pull and push items up to 50 pounds.
- Also requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.
