Salary: $97,344 - $112,555 (including 4% superannuation)

We're establishing a new Cyber Operations Application Team (COAT) that will help protect and strengthen critical NZDF digital capabilities. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll contribute to the delivery and sustainment of the infrastructure supporting NZDF cyber capabilities.
This is an opportunity to join a newly established team and work alongside cyber specialists, engineers and technology professionals supporting secure and resilient digital services across NZDF.
You will be responsible for implementing, maintaining and supporting infrastructure solutions across on premises and cloud environments, helping to ensure systems remain secure, reliable and fit for operational requirements. Working as part of a collaborative team, you'll contribute technical expertise across infrastructure delivery, sustainment and continuous improvement.
This will include:
Implementing and maintaining secure infrastructure solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
Monitoring and supporting infrastructure performance, resilience and availability.
Collaborating with cyber specialists to apply security hardening and compliance measures.
Supporting the configuration, integration and lifecycle management of infrastructure platforms.
Contributing to technical documentation, standards and operational procedures.
Please note that this role will require travel to support operational and business requirements. The successful candidate may also be required to participate in an on-call roster in the future as operational requirements evolve.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to contribute to work that supports NZDF's cyber operations and digital capability.
You will be a collaborative technical professional with experience working across infrastructure platforms and secure environments. You will enjoy solving technical challenges, supporting critical systems and working closely with specialists across multiple technical disciplines.
You will bring:
Experience supporting infrastructure within complex enterprise environments.
Knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as VMware, Windows Server, Linux and Azure.
Understanding of cyber security principles and compliance frameworks.
Experience with automation tools and infrastructure management practices.
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Exposure to agile delivery environments desirable.
Relevant infrastructure certifications or equivalent experience.

Higher Level Security Clearance
You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa.
At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last ten (10) years.
You must have a ten (10) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
