About the Role
SCIENION is seeking a motivated, customer-focused, and results-driven Inside Sales Representative to join our Boston-based team. This role plays an important part in supporting revenue growth through inbound and outbound sales activities, lead qualification, customer engagement, quote management, and accurate CRM administration.
The Inside Sales Representative will work closely with Marketing, Operations, Customer Support, Field Sales, and the wider commercial organisation to ensure a seamless customer experience from initial enquiry through to quotation, follow-up, and order progression.
This position is well suited to an organised and commercially minded individual who enjoys customer communication, structured sales processes, accurate data management, and working in a fast-paced international sales environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement
- Proactively engage with prospects and existing customers by phone, email, and virtual meetings.
- Qualify inbound leads and identify potential sales opportunities.
- Build and maintain professional customer relationships through timely follow-up and clear communication.
- Respond to customer enquiries with accuracy, urgency, and a customer-focused approach.
Quote & Opportunity Management
- Prepare, issue, manage, and follow up on customer quotations accurately and efficiently.
- Track quotation status, customer feedback, and next steps to maximise conversion rates.
- Support opportunity creation, pipeline progression, and deal administration within the CRM system.
- Work with internal teams to ensure quotations reflect correct pricing, products, terms, and customer requirements.
- CRM & Data Integrity
CRM & Data Integrity
- Maintain accurate customer, contact, company, quotation, and opportunity records in the CRM system.
- Record all sales activities, customer interactions, follow-up actions, and pipeline updates in a timely manner.
- Support clean, reliable CRM data to enable forecasting, reporting, and management of decision-making.
- Use CRM workflows, dashboards, and reports to prioritise activity and monitor performance.
Reporting & Sales Administration
- Support regular sales reporting, pipeline reviews, and performance tracking.
- Maintain accurate sales documentation and ensure information is complete and up to date.
- Assist with forecasting inputs, activity tracking, and sales operations requirements.
- Ensure internal documentation is consistent, professional, and aligned with company processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Marketing on campaigns, lead follow-up, and customer engagement initiatives.
- Work with Operations, Customer Support, Finance, and Field Sales to support customer requirements.
- Ensure a smooth handover of customer information between departments where required.
- Contribute to process improvements that enhance customer experience and sales efficiency.
Market Insight & Continuous Improvement
- Capture and share feedback on customer needs, buying behavior, market trends, and competitor activity.
- Support continuous improvement of sales processes, CRM usage, and reporting quality.
- Contribute to sales campaigns, projects, and initiatives as required..
Qualifications, Experience & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business, Life Sciences, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline preferred.
- Equivalent relevant professional experience will also be considered.
Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in inside sales, business development, sales support, customer service, or another customer-facing commercial role preferred.
- Experience in a B2B sales environment is advantageous.
- Experience within scientific, laboratory, biotechnology, life sciences, automation, instrumentation, or capital equipment markets is a plus but not essential.
- Previous experience managing quotations, customer enquiries, lead follow-up, or sales administration.
CRM & Digital Sales Tools
- Experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems.
- Strong commitment to CRM accuracy, data quality, and timely activity logging.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
- Ability to learn new software platforms, reporting tools, and digital sales processes quickly.
Sales & Commercial Capability
- Ability to identify, qualify, nurture, and progress sales opportunities.
- Strong follow-up discipline and pipeline management skills.
- Confidence handling customer enquiries, objections, and commercial discussions professionally.
- Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and professional quotations and customer-facing documentation.
- Understanding sales processes, opportunity management, forecasting, and revenue contribution.
Communication & Relationship Building
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional and confident phone, email, and virtual meeting manners.
- Strong listening skills with the ability to understand customer needs and respond appropriately.
- Ability to build trust with customers and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.

- Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with quotations, CRM records, sales data, and customer documentation.

Work Arrangement & Eligibility
- Ability to work full-time on-site at the Boston office.

Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $63,000 - $78,000.00. Benefits include 401K with company match, PTO, Health Benefits, Investment in Professional and Personal Development, and much more.
