Job Summary
Support the development and execution of innovative interior design concepts and space planning for commercial projects, ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery within budget.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing design concepts and space planning with detailed work specifications, incorporating occupational health and safety considerations such as adequate power points, clear access, and safer materials or chemicals
- Support project management activities to meet target deadlines and budgets
- Contribute to conceptualizing, executing, and implementing creative interior design ideas
- Coordinate and liaise with suppliers, contractors, and clients to facilitate project progress
- Perform site measurements, prepare layout plans, and assist in selecting appropriate materials
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Interior Design or equivalent
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Illustrator, or other design software programs
- Proven experience in decorating interior spaces including consultations, renovations, space planning, and new constructions
- Expertise in layout, colour, lighting, material selection, custom furniture, and installations
- Awareness of quality, occupational health, and safety management system processes and key requirements
- Creative and innovative with a proven ability to craft strong design concepts and prepare efficient layout solutions
