Responsibilities
- Develop interior design concepts based on client requirements, project briefs and site conditions.
- Work under the direction of the Design Manager to develop and refine design proposals.
- Prepare 2D production and construction drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, details and other relevant drawings.
- Develop 3D models using SketchUp to communicate design intent and spatial concepts.
- Produce realistic and attractive 3D renderings using D5 Render.
- Prepare professional PowerPoint presentations, mood boards, material palettes, design concepts and visual proposals.
- Present design concepts and proposals confidently to clients and explain design decisions clearly.
- Understand client requirements and translate them into practical, functional and aesthetically pleasing design solutions.
- Select and recommend suitable materials, finishes, colours, fixtures, furniture and fittings.
- Maintain good knowledge of interior materials, their applications, characteristics, finishes and suitability for different spaces.
- Coordinate design details and ensure drawings accurately reflect the approved design.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and other relevant parties when required.
- Attend site meetings and site visits when required.
- Review site conditions and identify potential design or detailing issues.
- Work closely with the Design Manager and project team to ensure designs are practical, buildable and aligned with project requirements.
- Make revisions based on feedback from the Design Manager, clients and project stakeholders.
- Manage multiple design tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Keep updated on current interior design trends, materials, products and design solutions.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture or a related field.
- Relevant experience in an interior design firm or related design environment in Singapore.
- Strong ability to produce 2D production and construction drawings.
- Proficient in SketchUp for 3D modelling.
- Proficient in D5 Render for 3D visualisation and rendering.
- Good knowledge of PowerPoint and ability to create clear and visually engaging design presentations.
- Confident in presenting design concepts and proposals directly to clients.
- Good knowledge of interior materials, finishes and construction details.
- Strong understanding of space planning and interior design principles.
- Good design sense and practical common sense when developing design solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify design, coordination and detailing issues.
- Able to think critically and consider both aesthetics and practicality in design.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to take direction from the Design Manager while also working independently on assigned tasks.
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a design team.
- Responsible, organised and able to manage deadlines effectively.
