Inventory Control Manager

FMH Conveyors is searching for an Inventory Control Manager responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the integrity of inventory transactions across all warehouse and production locations. This position leads inventory control activities, including cycle counting, inventory audits, root-cause analysis of discrepancies, inventory process improvement initiatives, and inventory accuracy reporting. The Inventory Control Manager works closely with Operations, Purchasing, Planning, Shipping, Quality, and Finance teams to support operational efficiency while maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy and material availability.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties as assigned.
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counting programs and physical inventory audits.
- Monitor inventory transactions to ensure timely and accurate system updates.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Manage inventory adjustment approvals and supporting documentation.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, shortages, excess inventory, and process gaps.
- Coordinate annual physical inventories.
- Supervise and develop Inventory Control personnel.
- Establish departmental goals, KPIs, and performance expectations.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy and material flow.
- Collaborate with Operations, Purchasing, Planning, and Warehouse teams to improve processes.
- Standardize inventory transaction procedures across locations.
- Develop and maintain work instructions and process documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements.
- Support internal and external audits related to inventory controls.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of inventory activities
- Partner with Purchasing to resolve material shortages and discrepancies.
- Partner with Operations, Purchasing, and Planning to ensure material availability.
- Collaborate with Finance on inventory valuation and reconciliation activities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- 7+ years of inventory control, warehouse operations, materials management, or supply chain experience.
- 4+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Manufacturing environment experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
- Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis abilities.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience with cycle counting and physical inventory processes.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent walking throughout warehouse and production areas.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and climb stairs as needed.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
