The Opportunity
As the Analytics Architect within our BST GI Analytics & Data Platform organization, you will be the strategic mind shaping how data is structured, modeled, and consumed across Hitachi Energy’s Grid Integration (GI) business Data Platform.
While our platform architecture team handles the underlying data infrastructure, your mission is to turn that raw power into business value. You will design the semantic layers, data models, and analytical frameworks that enable our BI Analysts and business teams to extract deep, actionable insights. Working closely with the Team Manager and business stakeholders, you will ensure our analytics landscape is intelligent, highly performant, and built in strict accordance with global compliance and internal process standards.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Design the Analytics & Modeling Strategy: Own the architectural blueprint for our semantic layers, data marts, and business-facing data models, ensuring they are optimized for advanced analytics and front-end BI applications.
Translate Demands into Analytical Frameworks: Partner with business leaders to understand complex operational requirements. Design how curated data and insights are consumed not only in dashboards and reports, but also in self-service models, operational applications, and automated workflows where analytics can directly improve business processes and decisions.
Uphold Data Governance & Validity: Enforce high standards of data quality, Master Data alignment, and KPI standardization, ensuring that reports across different business units deliver a single, auditable version of the truth.
Ensure Process & Regulatory Compliance: Embed internal PPS (Project Power System) project guidelines and ITIL service frameworks into the analytics deployment lifecycle, maintaining full alignment with global data regulations.
Lead technology evaluation and proof-of-concepts. Assess new capabilities, patterns, and tools across Power BI, Microsoft Fabric / Azure, and related analytics technologies; run PoCs where needed; and recommend pragmatic adoption decisions that improve scalability, performance, usability, and governance.
Your Background
Analytics Architecture Expertise: Proven experience in enterprise analytics architecture. You have a strong track record as an Analytics Architect, BI Architect, Power BI Architect, or similarly senior role designing enterprise BI solutions, semantic layers, and reusable analytics patterns in complex environments.
Advanced Modeling Mastery: You understand how analytics front ends interact with curated warehouse / lakehouse layers and how bronze / silver / gold patterns, ETL/ELT, and governed data products support scalable reporting and self-service analytics. Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Databricks, or comparable cloud data platforms is highly valued.
End-to-End Data Visibility: A strong understanding of how front-end BI applications interface with backend data platform storage, ensuring seamless data flows from ingestion to visualization.
Framework & Process Discipline: Practical experience working within structured project environments using PPS guidelines (or equivalent gate-models) and ITIL processes.
Strategic Communicator: Exceptional ability to collaborate with business stakeholders to map out analytical requirements, combined with the technical depth to guide backend developers on data structure needs.
