IT Engineer II, Support (Operations & Automation - Valencia Hub)
The Role
Flywire is seeking an autonomous, forward-thinking IT Support Engineer II based in Valencia to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement within our global IT Operations team.
In this role, you will be much more than an on-site technical contact: you will act as a key Operations Sensor and Automation Partner for our global IT unit. Operating from our vibrant Valencia Hub, you will bridge the gap between local employee experience and global infrastructure standards—identifying root causes, optimizing workflows, and helping fuel our transition toward AI-driven self-service solutions.
You will balance hands-on technical troubleshooting and core SaaS administration with physical asset lifecycle management, ensuring seamless onboarding/offboarding, immaculate data integrity, and strict compliance alignment.
Work Mode Note: This role is 100% on-site at our Valencia office. It combines face-to-face employee engagement and physical IT asset operations with high-impact global projects.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & L2 Technical Support: Deliver high-touch technical support for local on-site teams and remote FlyMates globally, diagnosing and resolving complex hardware, OS (macOS/Windows), and network issues.
SaaS Stack Administration: Manage identities, access, and security configurations within Flywire’s primary platforms: Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, and Jira.
Process Evolution & AI Readiness: Shift focus from quick fixes to long-term systemic solutions. Document high-quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to feed internal AI knowledge tools and identify recurring operational friction to automate through workflow tools or scripting.
Asset Lifecycle & Physical Logistics: Autonomously manage end-to-end hardware operations (procurement, inventory forecasting, provisioning, vendor coordination, and MDM zero-touch deployments). Maintain 100% data integrity in our global asset database.
Access Governance & Security: Serve as a local guardian for SOC2 compliance and User Access Reviews (UAR), enforcing strict IAM protocols across enterprise applications.
Cross-Functional Global Synergy: Collaborate directly with global Corporate IT, CPE, and Infrastructure teams to execute infrastructure updates and align on-site operations with global standards.
Basic Qualifications:
Location & Availability: Must reside in or be able to commute daily to our Valencia office (100% on-site).
Language Proficiency: Fluent spoken and written English (B2+/C1) for daily collaboration with global teams.
Experience: 3+ years of progressive IT support/operations experience in a fast-paced SaaS, FinTech, or digital product company.
OS & Hardware Expertise: Proven expertise deploying, securing, and troubleshooting both macOS and Windows environments.
SaaS Administration: Direct administrative experience with Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, and Jira.
Logistics & Asset Management: Hands-on experience managing IT hardware lifecycles, inventory control, and vendor relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
Modern Endpoint Management: Experience with Zero-Touch deployment frameworks using MDM platforms (Jamf, Intune, or similar).
Automation & Scripting: Interest or experience with workflow builders (e.g., Okta Workflows), APIs, or scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Python) to eliminate repetitive tasks.
AI Tooling & Knowledge Management: Familiarity or high motivation toward leveraging AI-driven IT support bots, smart ticketing routing, and structured documentation.
Compliance Standards: Practical understanding of security frameworks like SOC2 or ISO 27001.
