Junior Analyst

Linkham Services Ltd is offering an excellent opportunity for a confident, outgoing Graduate who can split their time between understanding the commercial aspects of the business and underwriting, using their analytical skills to support the commercial teams in maintaining and developing business. The graduate will gain exposure working on business located in various African markets, namely Mauritius, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Zambia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform market research and product benchmarking.
• Create premium quotations for different clients using our standard template.
• Underwrite and conduct profitability analysis to identify and challenge non-standard underwriting decisions.
• Analyse non-performing accounts and loss-making areas, proposing solutions.
• Calculate IBNR, loss ratios, average costs, and burn cost per policy.
• Produce reinsurance statements.

Qualifications and Knowledge:

• Degree in Mathematics with Statistics/Business.
• 1-2 years of experience.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel (familiar with VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas).
• Knowledge of Insurance would be an advantage.
• Basic accounting knowledge (e.g., produce Profit and Loss reports).

Your Profile:
