Lawyer
Position Overview
The Lawyer will provide specialized legal support across Bureau Veritas's SME operations, assisting the Legal Manager in managing contracts, compliance matters, and legal risks while developing expertise in the region's regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Support & Contract Management
- Assist in providing legal support to different product lines across the Middle East
- Review, draft, and analyse engineering contracts, subcontractor agreements, JV contracts, framework agreement, NDAs, amendments …ets and with focus on highlight contractual risks and deviations such as liability, indemnities, and insurance provisions
- Support our business projects in progress, including contract review and risk mitigation
- Assist in providing training and guidance to staff on compliance-related matters
- Support compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including procurement laws in SME region
- This position reports directly to the SME Legal & Compliance Manager, ensuring alignment with organizational legal strategy and compliance objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Legal Qualification: Law degree and admission to practice in ME jurisdiction(s)
- Experience: 5-10 years of engineering and construction legal practice, preferably in the Middle East region
- Language: Fluent in Arabic and English
- Core Competencies:
- Strong contract drafting and review skills such as FIDIC contracts and governmental procurement contracts
- Knowledge of procurement laws, and civil laws in SME Region which includes UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Pakistan.
- Background working with engineering firms or construction contractors
Working Conditions
- Based in Egypt
- May require occasional travel within the Region
