Lead Architect

Job Overview

Lead the architectural design process and ensure the technical coordination of construction projects, while guaranteeing compliance with applicable regulations, maintaining high construction quality standards, and delivering projects within established timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and validate the architectural concepts for construction projects.
  
• Lead and supervise the preparation of architectural drawings and technical documentation, including Concept Design, Preliminary Design, and Detailed Construction Drawings.
  
• Coordinate multidisciplinary internal teams, including engineers, CAD designers/drafters, and site managers, as well as external stakeholders such as engineering consultants, design offices, and subcontractors.
  
• Participate in feasibility studies, technical evaluations, and tender/bid preparation.
  
• Review and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, building codes, and applicable regulations.
  
• Monitor project schedules, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  
• Ensure the architectural quality, functionality, and aesthetic standards of all projects.
  
• Provide technical guidance and architectural expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
  
• Represent the company in meetings with clients, consultants, local authorities, and other project stakeholders.
  

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture from a recognized university or equivalent institution.
  

Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in architectural design and construction project supervision.
  
• Previous experience within a construction company, general contractor, or project management/design consultancy is highly preferred.
  
• Demonstrated experience managing large-scale commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects is an asset.
  

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of building regulations, urban planning requirements, construction methods, health & safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  
• Solid understanding of construction detailing, materials, and technical specifications.
  
• Proven project management and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
  
• Ability to review technical drawings and resolve design and site-related issues.
  

Software Skills

Proficiency in:

• AutoCAD
  
• Revit
  
• ArchiCAD
  
• Microsoft Office Suite
  

Knowledge of BIM processes is considered an advantage.

Languages

• Fluency in French and English (spoken and written) is required.
  
• Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
