Lyntris is seeking an experienced and fast-learning Lead Cybersecurity Engineer to provide senior technical leadership and Navy-focused software design solutions for Risk Management Framework (RMF) assessment and authorization (A&A). This position requires a strategic-minded leader capable of interpreting and translating mission requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions while ensuring compliance with Department of War and Navy cybersecurity standards.
Day-to-day efforts include working with highly talented professionals to design, implement, and monitor cyber security and information assurance policies for mission-critical software systems used by US Navy warfighters. This position serves as the senior engineering authority responsible for cybersecurity engineering, compliance, and technical execution across multiple applications and development teams.

- Provides technical leadership across the contract team and government program office; designs and implements new cybersecurity strategies across a portfolio of systems, adapting strategy as customer requirements change.
- Responsible for managing dependencies across diverse stakeholders, driving issue resolution, and translating operational needs into actionable and scalable engineering solutions.
- Creates and maintains ownership of complex cyber roadmaps to enable strategic resource planning and the prioritization of multiple critical, concurrent initiatives.
- Oversees cyber-related development efforts, leading software development teams through identification, review, evaluation, and remediation of security scan results.
- Accountable for ensuring continuous cyber accreditation and securing approval to distribute new capabilities and software to the fleet on a continual basis, as directed by the government program office.
- Devises innovative, cutting-edge AI-assisted engineering processes and workflows to ensure systems remain secure in the face of rapidly advancing cybersecurity threats.
- Identifies technical and engineering risks to the program and proactively develops mitigation strategies.
- Experience with implementing and supporting cybersecurity standards to include NIST and Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) standards as identified by NIST SP 800-37 and associated documentation.
- 2-3 years Department of Navy (DoN) accreditation experience related to:
- Developing system IA documentation to support RMF accreditation through the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), such as:
- System Categorization Forms
- Security Plans
- Hardware/Software/Information Flow Diagrams
- Security Assessment Plans (SAP)
- System Level Continuous Monitoring Plans
- Risk Assessment Reports and Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM)
- Supporting successful accreditations: ATO (Initial and Reauthorizations) and Interim Authorization to Test (IATT)
- Working with systems owners, government managers, and other stakeholders to manage cybersecurity requirements and continuously improve overall cyber posture across the program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with continuous ATOs (cATOs)
- Experience as a Navy Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)
- Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level 3 Certified
- Certified as a Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) – Minimum Level I
- Experience with Kubernetes-based microservice architecture
- Proficiency with VS code and modern AI development tools
Clearance Requirements
Some positions will require access to U.S. National Security information. Positions that require this access will be required to receive and maintain a U.S. government personnel security clearance (PCL). In order to qualify for this position, the candidate must be a US Citizen and either currently possess this National Security eligibility or be able to complete the investigation application process with a favorable determination and maintain that eligibility throughout their employment.
