Job Description
Purpose of the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

To be a successful Lead Full Stack Engineer, you should have experience with:
Technical Leadership & Solution Design
Lead the design and development of complex, enterprise-scale applications across front-end, back-end, integration, and data layers.
Define and promote engineering standards, coding practices, and architectural principles.
Collaborate with Solution Architects and Technical Leads to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable.
Drive technical decision-making and provide leadership on technology selection and implementation approaches.
End-to-End Software Engineering
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support software solutions throughout the software development lifecycle.
Deliver high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code leveraging modern engineering practices.
Lead development of APIs, microservices, event-driven solutions, and cloud-native applications.
Ensure operational stability through observability, monitoring, performance tuning, and production support.
Agile Delivery
Participate in Agile delivery processes including PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
Collaborate with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Support predictable delivery of business outcomes through effective estimation, planning, and execution.
Engineering Excellence
Champion DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and Infrastructure as Code practices.
Drive continuous improvement in software quality, security, and delivery efficiency.
Promote engineering metrics and data-driven decision-making.
Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture, risk, compliance, and security standards.
Stakeholder Management
Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and technical requirements.
Communicate technical solutions and delivery risks effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Contribute to governance forums and technical design reviews.
Talent Development & Mentoring
Mentor engineers and provide technical coaching across product teams.

Essential
Extensive experience in Full Stack Software Engineering within complex enterprise environments.
Strong experience in back-end development using Java, Spring Boot and related technologies.
Experience designing and building REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
Experience in Database Technologies - SQL and NoSQL (Oracle / Mongo)
Experience with DevSecOps - PaaS Openshift / K8S, GitLab, JIRA, SonarQube, Prisma and Wiz, Maven or Gradle.
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, automated testing, and software quality engineering.
Experience with event-streaming technologies such as Kafka and Message Queues.
Experience of Rapid Application Development using AI models like Claude, GitLab Duo
Computer Science degree or equivalent understanding of Computer Science, Object Oriented Design and Data Structures.

Experience within Corporate Banking, Payments technology environments.
