Legal Counsel, Intellectual Property
Yandex is looking for a Legal Counsel to support its software and tech businesses, draft and negotiate agreements, and advise on IP strategy. Apply if you have 5+ years of legal experience in IT/telecom, strong IP and contract law expertise, and fluency in legal English.Contracting and transactions
You will draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements. You will also structure and draft documentation for complex technology transactions and provide end-to-end legal support for M&A projects with a focus on IP and technology. Intellectual property
You will advise on IP strategy and risk management across Yandex’s software, technology, and data‑driven businesses. You will also optimize legal support for contracts related to the acquisition, disposal, and commercialization of IP and data. Legal operations
You will prepare practical instructions, FAQs, and guidance to streamline legal operations across the company. You will also manage and coordinate the work of external counsel in Russia and other jurisdictions.* Hold a law degree (preferably from a top‑tier university) * Have 5+ years of post‑qualification experience with a law firm or as in‑house counsel in software development, telecom, or IT * Have expertise in intellectual property and contract law * Have experience working on a global legal team in international and local projects * Are fluent in legal English (written and spoken) * Demonstrate knowledge of and genuine interest in the information technology and software industries * Are detail‑oriented and able to deliver professional results under pressure and within deadlines * Are a self‑motivated team player with a flexible, independent, and business‑oriented approach * Have excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills* Experience with contracts in common law jurisdictions * Experience dealing with tax and regulatory issues related to software and IT * Experience with projects involving multiple jurisdictions
