Legal Operations Lead

This role will provide a broad range of legal support focusing on legal operations, corporate governance, and global subsidiary management, as well as assist in establishing, maintaining, and updating the Xometry legal and regulatory compliance programs. You will work with cross-functional business units to assess their needs in alignment with Xometry's compliance requirements, in some cases owning the programs, drafting policies, educational training, and enforcement protocols to be used by the organization supporting a culture of compliance. Finally, this role will lead the legal operations function of our department.

How You’ll Contribute:

  • Leading legal operations initiatives, including contract lifecycle management, matter management, outside counsel guidelines, budgeting/spend tracking, and legal technology tools (e.g., CLM, e-billing, workflow automation)
  • Identifying, implementing, and optimizing AI-driven and other legal technology tools to streamline department workflows, automate routine tasks, and improve efficiency across the legal team
  • Overseeing the preparation and filing of annual reports and foreign qualifications for Xometry and its subsidiaries in multiple US states
  • Managing or assisting with domestic subsidiary matters, including formation, dissolution, conversion, drafting of governance documents, and maintenance of minute books
  • Working with cross-functional business leaders to assess their needs in alignment with Xometry's compliance requirements
  • Drafting policies for legal and regulatory compliance topics, aligning with Xometry's Code of Conduct and other policies; update and maintain policies to remain compliant in jurisdictions where Xometry does business
  • Monitoring and auditing compliance-related activities to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, and supporting compliance-related investigations
  • Supporting Privacy, Export / Import, AI and all other compliance teams and functions
  • Managing department reporting, metrics, and dashboards to track legal team performance and workload
  • Performing legal research
  • Electronically maintaining and organizing corporate files and documents
  • Performing administrative duties in support of the legal team

What You’ll Bring to Xometry:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • At least 5-7+ years of experience with at least 3 years in a corporate environment
  • 2-4 years experience in corporate compliance (privacy, export controls, risk, audit, etc) or as a paralegal
  • Experience leveraging AI-driven tools to streamline legal operations, automate routine tasks, and enhance the efficiency of compliance workflows, with a demonstrated ability to utilize AI technology to support legal research
  • Excellent research, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and discretion

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Dependable, reliable and a strong work ethic
  • In-house, public company experience a plus
  • Comfortable using online search tools, databases and portals
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels of company organization structure including executives and board members
  • Strong experience redlining changes to documents using Word and Adobe
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Adobe, DocuSign
  • Bonus: Professional certifications in compliance including the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Project Management Professional (PMP); Certified Legal Manager (CLM); Certified Legal Operations Manager (CLOM), paralegal certificate

The estimated base salary range for new hires into this role is $96,000-107,000 annually depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.
