Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Localization Analyst to support the adaptation of content into high-quality Korean. This role requires a strong command of language and localization (L10N) best practices to ensure content is accurate, culturally relevant, and aligned with the expectations of Korean-speaking Western audiences. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering linguistically precise and contextually appropriate content across various platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate localization of content into Korean while preserving the original meaning, tone, and intent.
- Ensure all localized content is culturally appropriate, contextually relevant, and aligned with Western audience expectations.
- Adapt informal language, idiomatic expressions, and emerging trends into equivalent, natural Korean expressions.
- Conduct thorough reviews and quality checks to maintain high standards of linguistic accuracy, consistency, and clarity.
- Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance (QA) and review teams to identify and resolve linguistic and contextual discrepancies.
- Manage assigned tasks efficiently, ensuring timely delivery in accordance with project deadlines.
- Adhere strictly to project-specific guidelines, terminology databases, glossaries, and style guides.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Demonstrated experience in localization, translation, or content adaptation, preferably within social media, e-commerce, or user-generated content domains.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Korean, with excellent writing and editing skills.
- Strong ability to interpret source content and accurately convey meaning across languages and contexts.
- Solid understanding of cross-cultural communication and localization strategies for Korean-speaking.
- Proven ability to handle idiomatic expressions and context-specific nuances with precision.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to linguistic quality.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
