Logistics Data Analyst (24 Month FTC)
About the Role
We're looking for a Logistics Data Analyst to join our UK Logistics team on a 24-month Fixed Term Contract. Reporting to the UK Logistics Operations Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, quality and availability of logistics data to support strategic procurement activities, transport management system setup and logistics planning across the UK.
You'll quickly build an understanding of the DS Smith logistics network and work closely with stakeholders across Logistics, Procurement, IT and external logistics partners. A significant part of the role will involve data collation, cleansing, standardisation and analysis, helping to create the robust data foundations needed to support logistics tenders, supplier management and operational decision-making.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with complex data, has a strong understanding of logistics operations, and is looking for an opportunity to contribute to high-profile business projects while developing their expertise in logistics and supply chain analytics.
What You'll Be Doing
As a key member of the UK Logistics team, you will:
Collate, cleanse and maintain logistics data across transport and warehousing operations.
Manage master data for logistics providers, customers and DS Smith sites.
Support logistics system setup and data management, including the Transport Management System (TMS).
Prepare and analyse data for logistics procurement and tender activities.
Develop financial baselines and provide insights to support decision-making.
Create reports and analysis using Excel and Power BI.
Support testing activities, including UAT and system readiness.
Ensure compliance with GDPR and data governance requirements.
Work closely with internal stakeholders and external logistics partners to improve data accuracy and consistency.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a highly analytical and collaborative individual who combines strong data management skills with a practical understanding of logistics operations.
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a Data Analyst, Logistics Analyst, Procurement Analyst or similar role
Experience working with complex logistics, transportation, supply chain or procurement data
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and data manipulation
Experience creating, maintaining and interpreting Power BI reports and dashboards
Strong understanding of data cleansing, master data management and data governance principles
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities
Proven ability to build effective relationships across multiple functions and levels
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
A proactive, hands-on approach and team-player mindset
Desirable Experience
Experience supporting logistics procurement or tender activities
Understanding of Transport Management Systems (TMS)
Experience supporting transport management system setup or implementation projects
Knowledge of logistics operations, transportation planning or warehousing
Experience of functional testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Understanding of statistical analysis techniques and logistics performance metrics
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
