LSA – Lead System Architect

Definition: The highest level of certification and expertise in the Pega ecosystem.

• Role: Senior technical leader responsible for overall architecture, design decisions, and best practices across large-scale Pega applications.

• Responsibilities:

o Define and govern the application architecture

o Lead technical teams and mentor other developers

o Ensure adherence to Pega guardrails and performance standards

o Participate in decision-making around integrations, data, and system scalability

• Certification: Pega Certified Lead System Architect (PCLSA)

PSA – Pega System Architect

• Definition: Entry- to mid-level practitioner skilled in configuring applications using Pega’s low-code tools.

• Role: Core application builder working on workflows, user interfaces, and business rules.

• Responsibilities:

o Develop and configure business processes and rules

o Build case types, data objects, and UIs

o Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate requirements into solutions

• Certification: Pega Certified System Architect (PCSA)

Often followed by Pega Certified Senior System Architect (PCSSA) for more experienced developers
