Manager (Grants and Partnerships)

About Pro Bono SG

Pro Bono SG (PBSG) is a registered charity and Institution of Public Character committed to our vision of Justice For All. We work with the legal profession, community partners and volunteers to improve access to justice for vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals and communities.

About the Role

We are looking for a Manager (Grants and Partnerships) to support the development and coordination of PBSG’s grants portfolio, grow institutional funding and build strategic partnerships. You will be involved across the full grant lifecycle—from identifying opportunities and developing proposals to tracking deliverables, reporting and compliance—while building relationships with corporations, foundations, government agencies and institutions. Working closely with programme, finance, communications and volunteer engagement teams, you will help translate PBSG’s programmes and impact into compelling funding and partnership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
1. Grant Development & Management

  • Identify and pursue grant opportunities from government agencies(e.g. MinLaw, NCSS), foundations, and funding bodies to meet annual grant targets.
  • Support the preparation of grant proposals, including coordinating inputs from programme, finance and other relevant teams, developing budgets and narratives, and ensuring timely submission.
  • Maintain the organisation-wide grants tracker as the central record of all grant applications and active grants, ensuring that grant details, funding periods, requirements, deliverables, reporting deadlines and key milestones are complete and kept up to date.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of every active grant, including its purpose, funding terms, key deliverables, milestones, reporting requirements and status.
  • Track all grant-related actions, deadlines and milestones, proactively following up with relevant teams to ensure requirements and submissions are completed accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate and prepare interim and final grant reports, working with programme and finance teams to gather programme outcomes, financial information and other required documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with grant conditions and flag upcoming requirements, risks, delays or material changes to the Head of Department in a timely manner.
  • Maintain regular engagement with funders throughout the grant lifecycle, including providing updates, responding to queries and supporting renewal discussions.

2. Partnership Cultivation

  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with corporations, foundations, and institutions to secure financial support, in-kind contributions, and collaboration opportunities.
  • Develop sponsorship and CSR partnerships that align with PBSG’s mission and priorities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for institutional partners, fostering long-term engagement and identifying opportunities to deepen their support.

3. Fundraising Strategy & Innovation

  • Collaborate with leadership to diversify funding streams and identify new approaches to corporate giving and grant acquisition.
  • Partner with the Development Manager (Donor Relations) to align institutional funding with broader fundraising and donor engagement strategies.
  • Monitor institutional funding trends and emerging opportunities relevant to PBSG’s programmes and strategic priorities.

4. Event & Partnership Integration

  • Support events and stewardship initiatives by leveraging strategic partnerships and securing sponsorships where appropriate.
  • Coordinate with partners to co-host or promote events that increase PBSG’s visibility and supporter engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Engagement Team to align partnership resources (e.g. corporate volunteer programs) with organisational needs.

5. Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of donations, grant applications, awards, and partnership agreements in PBSG’s CRM system and relevant databases.
  • Monitor grant and partnership pipelines, funding secured, success rates and other relevant performance indicators.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on the status of the grants portfolio, upcoming deadlines, funding pipeline and partnership activities.
  • Use funding and partnership data to identify trends, gaps and opportunities and support planning and decision-making.

6. Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with programme and finance teams to develop funding proposals, budgets and reports and ensure grant requirements are understood and fulfilled.
  • Work with the Volunteer Engagement team to tap into partner networks (e.g. law firms, universities) for volunteer recruitment and funding.
  • Support the Communications Team in developing materials for proposals, partnership updates, and impact reports.
  • Contribute to a unified supporter engagement strategy by sharing insights and aligning efforts across teams.

7. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent PBSG at meetings, conferences, and networking events with funders and partners.
  • Build and maintain relationships with grant officers, corporate leaders, and institutional stakeholders to expand PBSG’s funding base.
  • Work closely with programme teams to identify and articulate programme outcomes, impact and stories that strengthen proposals, reports and funder engagement.

8. Long-Term Sustainability & StrategicGrowth

  • Identify and develop funding opportunities that support PBSG’s long-term financial sustainability and programme priorities.
  • Contribute to strategic planning by providing insights on institutional funding trends, funder priorities and emerging opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain processes, templates and documentation to strengthen PBSG’s grant development, management and reporting practices.

Requirements

  • Degree in Marketing, Business & Management, Mass Communications, Public Policy, Community Development or a relevant discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in grants, fundraising, partnerships, business development or a related field.
  • Proven experience in grant proposal development, reporting and stakeholder management.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and cross-team collaboration skills.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and take ownership of deliverables.
  • Experience with CRM or grant management systems is an advantage.
