Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to own and drive key product initiatives within Availity's Payment Accuracy domain. This role is responsible for defining, delivering, and continuously improving product capabilities that help reduce claim errors, prevent avoidable denials, improve payment accuracy, reduce operational rework, and create measurable value for healthcare payers and providers.



This is a highly visible role that requires strong product leadership, healthcare domain curiosity, data-driven decision making, technical fluency, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will partner closely with Engineering, Analytics, Operations, Customer Success, Product Marketing, and healthcare stakeholders to identify meaningful problems, define scalable solutions, and deliver measurable customer and business outcomes.

The ideal candidate is not simply a backlog manager or delivery coordinator. We are looking for a product leader who can translate complex business challenges into actionable product strategies, influence stakeholders, drive prioritization decisions, and own outcomes from discovery through delivery, adoption, and continuous improvement.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap Ownership

  • Own a defined product area within the Payment Accuracy platform from discovery through launch and ongoing optimization.

  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business objectives, customer needs, operational efficiency goals, and platform strategy.

  • Translate customer problems, business opportunities, operational challenges, and market insights into clear product outcomes and prioritized initiatives.

  • Balance customer value, business impact, technical feasibility, implementation effort, operational readiness, and speed to market when making prioritization decisions.

  • Define product success metrics and use outcome-based measurements to evaluate product performance and guide future investments.

Customer & Domain Understanding

  • Develop a strong understanding of U.S. healthcare payer-provider workflows, claims processing, payment integrity, payment accuracy, denials management, and revenue cycle operations.

  • Engage with customers, implementation teams, support teams, operations, sales, analytics, and engineering teams to identify opportunities for product improvement.

  • Convert customer pain points and operational challenges into well-defined problem statements, hypotheses, and product initiatives.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, customer expectations, competitive offerings, healthcare regulations, and emerging technologies impacting payment accuracy.

Product Discovery & Requirements Management

  • Lead structured discovery efforts using customer research, stakeholder feedback, operational insights, and quantitative data.

  • Validate opportunities through user research, analytics, workflow analysis, and business impact assessments.

  • Define clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and success metrics.

  • Ensure requirements are complete, testable, scalable, and aligned with business and technical objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, QA, Design, Analytics, and Operations teams throughout product development.

Product Execution & Delivery

  • Own product capabilities related to payment accuracy, claim validation, rule management, workflow automation, operational tooling, analytics, and customer value measurement.

  • Drive product execution from concept to launch while maintaining alignment across stakeholders.

  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure product solutions account for scalability, supportability, security, reliability, and operational readiness.

  • Support continuous improvement activities based on customer feedback, operational learnings, platform insights, and product performance metrics.

Data, Analytics & Business Outcomes

  • Define and monitor key product performance indicators including adoption, utilisation, denial reduction, error reduction, operational efficiency, turnaround time, customer satisfaction, and ROI.

  • Use quantitative and qualitative data to prioritise investments, validate product decisions, and evaluate post-launch success.

  • Partner with Analytics teams to generate actionable insights and build product value narratives.

  • Develop measurable ROI frameworks that support customer engagement, business planning, renewals, and growth initiatives.

AI, Automation & Process Optimisation

  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and workflow intelligence to improve product capabilities and operational efficiency.

  • Use AI-enabled tools to accelerate discovery, analysis, documentation, prioritisation, and decision-making processes.

  • Ensure AI-supported solutions remain transparent, auditable, explainable, and aligned with business objectives.

  • Support initiatives that reduce manual effort, improve quality, increase scalability, and accelerate time to value.

Technical & Platform Collaboration

  • Partner effectively with engineering teams on APIs, system integrations, data flows, workflow design, business rules, scalability, and technical trade-offs.

  • Participate actively in architectural and technical discussions to support informed product decisions.

  • Ensure product requirements incorporate operational readiness considerations including monitoring, support processes, failure handling, release planning, documentation, and customer communication.

Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with Engineering, QA, Design, Analytics, Architecture, Operations, Customer Success, Product Marketing, Sales, Privacy, Security, Finance, Legal, and Executive Leadership teams.

  • Clearly communicate priorities, trade-offs, risks, dependencies, progress, and business outcomes.

  • Build alignment across teams and influence decisions without direct authority.

  • Partner with go-to-market teams to support product launches, customer enablement, adoption, and market positioning.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 10+ years of overall professional experience.

  • 5+ years of Product Management, Product Owner, Lead Business Analyst, or related product leadership experience.

  • Proven experience managing complex product initiatives from discovery through delivery and optimization.

  • Experience within U.S. healthcare, healthcare technology, revenue cycle management, claims processing, payment integrity, payment accuracy, payer-provider workflows, or similarly complex regulated SaaS environments.

  • Strong Agile/Scrum experience with roadmap planning, backlog management, sprint execution, release planning, and stakeholder communication.

  • Demonstrated success defining product strategy, prioritising investments, and delivering measurable business outcomes.

Domain Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of healthcare claims workflows, payment accuracy, denial prevention, payment integrity, or revenue cycle processes.

  • Understanding of healthcare operational workflows and customer challenges.

  • Ability to quickly learn complex healthcare business processes and regulatory considerations.

Technical Skills

  • Experience working with APIs, integrations, workflow systems, data platforms, and business rules engines.

  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities.

  • Ability to work effectively with Engineering teams on technical concepts, trade-offs, dependencies, and implementation approaches.

  • Familiarity with modern SaaS platforms, workflow products, analytics solutions, and enterprise software delivery.

Leadership & Communication

  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong ability to influence across functions without direct authority.

  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity while maintaining accountability and execution focus.

  • Experience collaborating with globally distributed teams across India and U.S. time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with claims editing, payment integrity, claim validation, denial prevention, EDI/X12 transactions, healthcare APIs, or payer-provider solutions.

  • Experience with platform products, workflow products, analytics products, operational tooling, or developer-facing APIs.

  • Exposure AI-driven workflows, automation platforms, and process optimization initiatives.

  • Experience with SQL, Jira, Confluence, Power BI, QuickSight, Pendo, Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, or similar tools.

  • Experience supporting product marketing, customer enablement, enterprise product launches, and customer adoption programmes.

  • Experience working within highly regulated environments requiring privacy, security, reliability, and auditability controls.
