Summary
Location: Australia
Design, implement, and support enterprise-scale network security solutions across data centre, cloud, and hybrid environments.
Work with leading technologies including Cisco ACI, Check Point, and Palo Alto Networks in complex, large-scale managed services environments.
Due to the secure nature of this role, we are seeking candidates who are Australian Citizens or Australian Permanent Residents only.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to join our team and support enterprise and carrier-grade network security environments. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network infrastructure, with a focus on Cisco ACI, Check Point, and Palo Alto technologies.
This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and operational support across complex multi-vendor environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, configure, and support network security solutions across data centre, cloud, and hybrid environments.
Perform firewall policy reviews, security assessments, rule optimisation, and platform health checks.
Troubleshoot and resolve network, security, routing, segmentation, and application connectivity issues.
Configure and manage Cisco ACI environments, including tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, EPGs, contracts, and L3 Outs.
Implement, maintain, and optimise Check Point firewall policies, including access control and NAT policies.
Deploy, configure, and support Palo Alto NGFW and Panorama environments.
Apply security best practices and maintain compliance with client operational standards.
Participate in change management, problem management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with architects, project teams, and service delivery stakeholders to support solution design and operational outcomes.
Create and maintain technical documentation including HLDs, LLDs, implementation plans, SOPs, and operational runbooks.
Required Experience / Qualifications
6+ years of experience in Network and Security Engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with:
Cisco ACI
Check Point Firewalls
Palo Alto Firewalls
Experience designing and supporting enterprise network security solutions in large-scale environments.
Strong understanding of:
Network Segmentation
Security Architecture
Firewall Technologies
Network Operations and Troubleshooting
Solid networking fundamentals, including:
TCP/IP
BGP
OSPF
VXLAN EVPN
LAN/WAN technologies
Data centre networking
High availability and resilient network designs
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced operational environment.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Preferred Experience / Qualifications
Experience working within managed services or enterprise operations environments.
Experience supporting large-scale, multi-vendor network infrastructure.
ITIL Foundation certification.
Cisco CCNP Enterprise or CCNP Data Center.
Palo Alto PCNSE certification.
Check Point CCSA or CCSE certification.
CISSP certification.
