Operations Coordinator
Position Title: Operation Coordinator
Division/Location: Rome/St Pete
Reports to: Operations Manager
Primary Purpose of Position:
Operations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to the production schedule; responsibilities range from people, to data entry, to purchasing. Responsible for creating and maintaining all purchase order requisitions in accordance with approved procedures.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assists Plant Manager and Operations Manager in planning and scheduling.
- Creates a schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each department to meet shipping dates according to customer orders.
- Create and distribute production schedules or work orders to the departments.
- Enters data into EPICOR in regard to purchasing & production planning.
- Prepares and communicates production reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems
- Coordinates all projects through the manufacturing process to meet required ship dates.
- Serves as a communication link between the office and floor.
- Handle clerical duties such as greeting visitors and callers, typing correspondence, making copies, sorting mail, and maintaining office equipment and office supplies.
- Process and update records in a computer system based on business operations which may include customer service, distribution, and inventory movement and requisitioning.
- Maintain entire office filing system by organizing and labeling documents pertaining to vendors, customers, shipping and inventory.
- Confer with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress of completion and discuss needed changes.
- Requisition and maintain inventories or materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.
- Researches new alternative suppliers; including creating NDA & RFQ documents and conducting quotation analysis.
- Evaluates supplier performance and on-time delivery; facilitates corrective action.
- Confer with establishment personnel, vendors, or customers to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
- Assist’s Human Resources in maintaining workforce by communicating with operations and temp agencies to fill positions.
- Handles onboarding, training, and timekeeping of temporary workforce.
- Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.
- Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
- Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community, and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
- Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
