Packaging Supervisor
The Packaging Supervisor works closely with the Plant Operations Manager and has responsibility to ensure that all seed packages (bags or bulk units) are labeled legibly and accurately according to customer instructions. Other essential job functions may include but not limited to:
- Daily supervision and training of other employees working within packaging processes.
- Ensuring a safe work environment and implementing company safety programs
- Assist with implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System
- Utilizes computers to record and locate information as needed
- Ensuring product integrity through thorough cleaning between bagging runs
- Ensures accurate product packaging and inventory with timely submission of paperwork
- Performing preseason maintenance on bagging, conveyor and palletizing equipment to prevent downtime during conditioning season
- Ensuring that seed pallets are neatly stacked and securely wrapped prior to placement in the warehouse
- Lifting and stacking materials up to 68 lbs. for extended periods of time
- Lifting and stacking material at or above shoulder height for extended periods of time
- Standing to fill and close packaged product for extended periods of time
- Safely climb stairs and/or ladders to monitor and adjust equipment
- Successfully pass the forklift training and receive an operator’s certificate
- Monitors and maximizes daily bag output
- Maintaining adequate supply inventory to prevent down time.
- Maintaining a neat, clean, and organized work area
