Our Pickleball Program Coordinator provides leadership to an important function that creates and executes a growing and dynamic pickleball program to our members, prospective members and guests. Under the leadership of the Director of Fitness, this role promotes high-level hospitality to members and their guests and organizes and implements all racquet activities with the goal of enhancing the image and member experience of Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
- Create a welcoming, energetic atmosphere through high-quality pickleball open play, leagues, social events, and tournaments for players of all skill levels.
- Foster engagement, build community, and promote participation while supporting daily court operations and delivering outstanding hospitality.
- Responsible for the programming of all racquet activities.
- Responsible for administering all areas and functions of the tennis and pickleball programs, including social events, classes, clinics, lessons, training, special events, and tournaments.
- Executes all daily operations of the Club’s racquet program, including opening and closing procedures.
- Assist members with court reservations, lesson registrations, and program inquiries.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent racquet service and managing member relationships to achieve exceptional member satisfaction.
- Perform necessary administrative tasks, such as attendance taking, returning messages, and general correspondence with patrons and co-workers.
- Success will be measured by program growth, member and guest satisfaction, and the creation of a fun, active pickleball culture that enhances the club experience.
- Responsible for managing the proper care, maintenance and cleanliness of outdoor courts and related equipment.
- Works with members, Wellness Committee and Director of Fitness to implement and adjust policies and procedures.
- Responsible for evaluating performance of racquet programs and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Coordinate effectively with department team members that may include teaching professionals, front desk, weekend supervisor, fitness trainers / instructors and spa therapists.
- Work with other departments to achieve member service and communication objectives regarding club activities and events.
- Respond to time-sensitive matters including member queries and incident responses.
- Maintain strictest of confidence in sensitive matters pertaining to members and/or associates. Privy to information that is not to be shared.
- Effective team member offering solutions and suggestions to membership complaints, issues, facility challenges and overall ways to better enhance service, a hospitality culture and the overall Club culture.
- Able to utilize rational judgment and discretion to ensure members' overall satisfaction with no or minimum supervision in day-to-day operations.
- Uses diplomacy whenever interacting or handling complaints from members.
- Ensure online calendars, bulletin boards, and/or other communication means are kept up to date.
- Promote and support racquet social events, lessons, clinics, leagues, camps, and tournaments.
- Enforce guest policies and support Wellness Center programming.
- Performs other duties as required and self-initiated as part of the team culture.
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Professional appearance and demeanor suitable for a private club environment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree (AA) in Physical Education or related field; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Frequently talks and hears. Frequently uses hands; reaches with hands and arms; talks, hears, stands and walks, climbs or balances; stoops, and kneels. Occasionally sits, crouches, or crawls; tastes or smells. Occasionally lifts up to 45 pounds.
ENVIRONMENT/NOISE:
Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:
USAPA certification (or equivalent). AED, CPR and First Aid.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY PREFERENCES:
- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associate may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associate may use are in English).
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast paced hospitality-focused property organization.
- Service driven, highly organized, knowledgeable in racquet sports, and thrives in a private club setting.
- Outstanding communication skills – written and verbal – are required to interact with members, senior leadership, other departments, outside agencies/vendors and colleagues.
- Independent thinker with outstanding time management skills –ability to manage priorities and schedules that change on a daily basis.
- Strong communication skills and proficient knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Available for evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Friendly and outgoing, shows a passion for pickleball.
- Strong organizational skills: time management, attention to detail, ability to self-start. Strong work ethic.
