About the Job

As a Principal DevOps Engineer at Allianz Technology, you will play a critical role in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our mobile development processes. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless integration and deployment of mobile applications.

Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing performance, ensuring security, and implementing best practices in DevOps. Additionally, you will leverage AI technologies to enhance the automation and efficiency of our DevOps processes.

What you do

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD and GitOps pipelines across backend services and mobile applications, from commit through to production.
• Operate and evolve Kubernetes-based infrastructure on AWS, using Terraform (or similar IaC tooling) for provisioning and configuration management.
• Own observability and monitoring for the platform — proactively identifying and resolving reliability, performance, and availability issues (SRE
  practice).
• Build security and compliance into the pipeline and infrastructure by design (DevSecOps) — vulnerability management, secure defaults, least-privilege
  access.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline the software development lifecycle and remove delivery friction.
• Use AI-assisted tools and methodologies to improve automation, code/security review, and troubleshooting efficiency across DevOps
  workflows.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, testing, and production
  environments.
• Stay current with emerging platform, security, and AI-assisted engineering practices, and bring relevant ones into the team.
• Mentor other engineers and help build a culture of ownership and continuous
  improvement.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Strong Linux systems fundamentals and hands-on experience with Kubernetes (orchestration, troubleshooting, day-2 operations).
• Proven experience as a DevOps/Platform/SRE engineer, with solid CI/CD and GitOps practice and strong Git fundamentals.
• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS preferred; Azure/GCP acceptable) and IaC tooling (Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent).
• A security-conscious approach to infrastructure and pipelines (DevSecOps) — comfortable owning vulnerability triage and remediation, not just
  consuming scan output.
• Practical experience with monitoring/observability tooling and an SRE mindset toward reliability, incident response, and continuous improvement.
• Comfortable using AI-assisted tools in daily engineering work; machine learning/model-building experience is a plus, not a requirement.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum ways of working and tools like Jira and Confluence.
