Principal Hardware Diagnostics Engineer
You will design and develop diagnostics software that monitors hardware health and diagnoses system-level issues across AI infrastructure platforms. You will build diagnostic agents, monitoring tools, analytics frameworks, and remediation workflows for blade-level servers and rack-scale clusters, integrate low-level diagnostics across the system stack, and provide fault information that accelerates troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop automated hardware diagnostics for blade-level servers and rack-scale AI systems
- Architect and implement diagnostic agents, monitoring tools, and telemetry analytics frameworks
- Integrate low-level diagnostic modules into monitoring systems with hardware teams
- Develop tools that detect hardware health conditions and isolate failures
- Create diagnostic modules for internal validation and production datacenter operations
- Provide detailed hardware fault information to system engineers
- Define remediation workflows and insights for hardware faults across nodes and clusters
- Integrate diagnostics across the system stack with firmware, networking, and cloud platform teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong software engineering experience in Python, C++, or C#
- Experience developing diagnostics or monitoring systems for hardware platforms
- Experience with distributed systems or cloud infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of Linux environments and system-level diagnostics tools
- Experience collaborating with CM or ODM partners on manufacturing diagnostics and fault isolation
- Strong analytical and debugging skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
