Principal Network Engineer
Salary: $135 - $140 p.h.
Are you an experienced network security expert looking for your next high-impact project? We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Technical Specialist to take a technical lead role in enterprise firewall replacements and upgrades. In this role, you will provide advanced technical expertise, hands-on implementation, and strategic advice to ensure optimal network performance, compliance, and security.
What You Will Do:
Lead Deployments & Upgrades: Drive the end-to-end deployment, upgrade, and configuration of Check Point firewalls as the primary platform, while supporting Palo Alto and F5 solutions.
Optimise Security Environments: Maintain and optimise firewall environments across Check Point and Palo Alto Secure Web Gateway (SWG) to align with enterprise security standards.
Integrate Infrastructure: Integrate complex firewall solutions using Cisco routing and switching to maintain high availability and seamless network connectivity.
Governance & Rule Base Management: Orchestrate firewall rule bases and ensure continuous compliance using the AlgoSec (NSPM) platform.
Monitoring & Documentation: Monitor system performance using SolarWinds, while developing detailed technical solution designs, change plans, and configuration artefacts.
What You Need to Apply for This Role:
Check Point Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with Check Point firewall technologies, including builds, replacements, upgrades, troubleshooting, and policy optimisation.
Enterprise Networking: Practical experience with Palo Alto capabilities and a strong background in Cisco routing and switching.
Tooling Proficiency: Demonstrated experience using AlgoSec (or equivalent NSPM tools) for policy management and SolarWinds for performance monitoring.
Technical Documentation: Proven ability to produce high-quality technical artefacts, including implementation designs, rollback procedures, and change plans.
Frameworks & Process: A solid understanding of cyber security frameworks alongside ITIL Service Management processes (Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration management).
