Printing Operations Support
The Printing Operations Support is a versatile production team member responsible for supporting multiple departments within the printing operation to ensure efficient workflow, product quality, and on-time customer deliveries. This position provides coverage and assistance in Rewind, Press Operations, Press Support, Shipping, and other production areas as needed. This position must be adaptable, safety-conscious, and capable of learning multiple processes while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
Essential Functions:
Rewind Operations
- Operate rewind equipment according to established procedures and production schedules.
- Inspect printed material for defects, color consistency, registration, and overall quality.
- Accurately slit, rewind, label, and package finished rolls.
- Complete required production documentation and quality records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Press Support
- Assist press operators with press setup, changeovers, and cleanup.
- Prepare inks, plates, cylinders, dies, sleeves, and other production materials.
- Stage raw materials and remove finished products from the press area.
- Monitor material inventory and communicate shortages to supervisors.
- Support waste reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
Printing Operations
- Operate printing equipment as trained and authorized.
- Perform machine setup, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting.
- Monitor print quality throughout production runs.
- Conduct routine quality inspections to ensure products meet customer specifications.
- Follow all standard operating procedures and quality requirements.
Shipping & Warehouse Support
- Prepare finished goods for shipment, including packaging, labeling, and palletizing.
- Verify quantities and product identification prior to shipment.
- Load and unload materials using forklifts or pallet jacks (as certified).
- Assist with inventory movement and warehouse organization.
- Maintain accurate shipping documentation.
General Responsibilities
- Cross-train and provide support across multiple production departments.
- Fill in for employees during absences, vacations, or periods of increased production demand.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Maintain productivity and quality standards while meeting production deadlines.
- Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or quality problems promptly.
- Participate in team meetings, safety training, and continuous improvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations.
