Project Coordinator
Job Purpose
The ProjectCoordinator will play a crucial role in overseeing site execution, handlingproject administration, and maintaining smooth operational communication acrossinternal stakeholders, sub-contractors, and government bodies. The idealcandidate will possess deep practical knowledge of waterproofing and insulationsystems, alongside proven experience managing security clearances and projectdocumentations for sensitive institutional sites under MINDEF and the Ministryof Home Affairs (MHA)
KeyResponsibilities
1. ProjectAdministration & Documentation
- Prepare, compile, and maintain all necessary project-related paperwork, including but not limited to Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and material submission logs.
- Develop, monitor, and update project master schedules, ensuring milestones are met and potential delays are pre-emptively flagged.
- Document and follow up on important action items, progress updates, and design variations resulting from site and stakeholder coordination meetings.
- Manage project procurement tracking, including coordinating delivery timelines with the logistics team to match field progress.
2. Sub-Contractor & Field Management
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for external sub-contractors, suppliers and client representatives.
- Monitor sub-contractor activities daily to verify that workmanship adheres to technical specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards for waterproofing and insulation applications.
3. Security Clearance & GovernmentLiaison
- Manage the end-to-end security clearance application process for all project personnel, engineers, and sub-contractors accessing highly restricted government installations.
- Liaise directly with representatives from the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to ensure prompt compliance with complex clearance protocols and pass renewals.
- Oversee on-site compliance with all government-mandated security conditions, escort protocols, and restricted material handling regulations.
4. Technical Site Supervision
- Oversee surface preparation, application integrity, and performance testing for advanced coatings and structural insulation layers.
- Conduct routine visual inspections and coordinate defects rectifications prior to official client handovers.
JobRequirements
- Education: Minimum Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: At least 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience coordinating building construction projects, with explicit experience in structural waterproofing, thermal insulation, or specialized protective coatings.
Demonstrated experience handling security pass submittals and personnel clearance protocols for MINDEF or MHA sites.
- Technical Skills:
Highly proficient in compiling structural project paperwork (RA & SWP) and understanding technical data sheets.
Proficient with project planning and scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Excel).
- Soft Skills: Clear communication skills, exceptional attention to administrative detail, and a firm, organized approach to managing external sub-contractors.
