Project Manager Automation or Process Control Technology
About the position
The overall FBC ENG T3 Projects team currently consists of approximately 60 employees and is divided into 6 specialist functions:
- HVAC, Building
- Manufacturing Technology (MT)
- Process Control Technology (PLT)
- Automation Technology (AUT)
- Commissioning & Qualification (C&Q)
- Process Engineering (VT)
The FBC ENG T3 Projects AUT/PLT team currently has a total of 13 employees who work as "Project Manager Automation or Process Control Technology" on a wide variety of investment projects across the entire Frankfurt Bio Campus (FBC).
Daily work in technical project execution also includes further training measures to support the personal development of each individual employee.
Main responsibilities:
You will support, among other things, the implementation of a globally established program (SAP S/4 HANA) in the area of active ingredient production at the Frankfurt Bio Campus (FBC) and are assigned to the FBC ENG T3 Projects project group with a focus on automation technology.
As an Automation Technology Project Manager, you are responsible for the independent execution of investment and optimization projects on-site in our production units.
In doing so, you bear overall responsibility for project realization from technology transfer through feasibility studies, basic and detail engineering, realization, qualification, and the start-up of investment projects, related to the automation technology department.
Project execution must take place while taking into account safety, cleanroom, environmental protection, pharmaceutical (GxP), and economic framework conditions.
- Development of concepts for process control, operational control technology, fundamentals of automation, and process visualization.
- Creation of the User Requirements Specification (URS), ensuring the implementation of technical requirements via design approval, machine acceptance, commissioning, qualification, and validation.
- Carrying out preliminary planning for new plant or supplementary investments for the department. Implementation of technical changes to existing machines and plants.
- Execution of projects under market-economic conditions within the framework of agreed project plans. Coordinating project workflows while observing internal and external interests, provisions, regulations, guidelines, and legal requirements.
- Creation of tender documents for the request of supplies and services in compliance with departmental specifications. Evaluation of offers regarding required services and scope. Awarding of supplies and services in coordination with the client and supervisor.
- Commissioning and control of suppliers and service providers as well as managing and monitoring contractor services (contractor management).
- Creation of GMP-compliant project documentation up to the commissioning of the planned plants.
- Controlling project workflows and ensuring project execution according to customer orders regarding costs, deadlines, quality, and resources. Coordinating project progress with the project team, operator, and supervisor. Initiating and monitoring corrective measures in case of target deviations.
- Initiation and participation in projects for plant optimization in terms of quality or efficiency improvement. Further development of technical solutions regarding qualitative and safety-related aspects within the framework of projects through continuous analysis of new technologies on the market as well as introducing innovative techniques, processes, and methods using in-house and purchased know-how within departmental specifications and in coordination with the operator and supervisor.
- Maintenance and transfer of specialized know-how in your field. Participation in working groups and routines on the topics of automation technology, quality, plant safety, organization, and project management.
- Presenting matters belonging to the area of responsibility during inspections.
About you

Experience:
-
Several years of experience in the field of process and automation technology for biotechnological active ingredient production plants, aseptic filling lines, and inspection systems or plants for the assembly & packaging of finished pharmaceuticals and medical products.

Proven several years of experience in the field of project and contractor management, as well as in the area of qualification requirements and execution on the Process Control System (PLS).

Experience in the field of engineering and project execution for automation systems from manufacturers, in particular Yokogawa process control systems, ABB-PLS, and Siemens-SPS, as well as general knowledge of process control technology.

Relevant experience in the field of OT/IT systems and automation technology.

Sound knowledge of GxP guidelines. Quality-conscious, independent, structured, and systematic way of working.

Convincing demeanor.

Cooperate Transversally - within Sanofi and with external partners.

Confident application of standard software: MS-Office, SAP, etc.

Engineering degree (college or university) in the field of electrical, automation, or information technology.

The salary range for this position is: €79.104,00 - €105.472
Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
