As a trailblazer in the cannabis industry, our roots run deep and our sights are set high. If you're ready to shape the future of cannabis with a team that believes in quality, care, and community — let’s grow together.
The role of the Project Manager, Category is to lead commercialization and portfolio execution for the flower and pre-rolls categories across markets, ensuring products move from concept to launch with clear ownership, disciplined timelines, and strong cross-functional alignment. This role serves as the central project driver for category initiatives, connecting cultivation, operations, commercial, and retail partners to support timely launches, proactive issue resolution, and consistent post-launch follow-through.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain detailed project plans for flower and pre-rolls initiatives, including new products, strain rotations, pack and bud size updates, line extensions, and discontinuations.
- Coordinate inputs and deliverables across cultivation, post-harvest, R&D, manufacturing, procurement, quality, regulatory, supply chain, wholesale and retail teams.
- Track category-specific risks such as biomass availability, third-party procurement, potency, flavor profiles, packaging lead times, compliance review and state-specific label requirements.
- Support launch readiness by confirming timing, inventory, training materials, sell-in assets, and retail execution needs.
- Maintain documentation for decisions, approvals, dependencies, changes in scope, delays and other key project milestones.
- Report progress, blockers, and mitigation plans to the Director of Portfolio Operations and key stakeholders.
- Own executional readiness and milestone completion for flower and pre-rolls projects, ensuring timelines, trackers, launch checklists, and handoffs are accurate and current.
- Maintain clear communication flow across teams, rapidly escalate issues, and document changes in scope, root cause, ownership, and mitigation plans.
- Drive on time launches and change implementations by reducing delays caused by missing inputs, late approvals, poor coordination, or unclear process steps.
- Improve issue resolution, handoff quality, project visibility, and stakeholder confidence through consistent follow-up and cross-functional coordination.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience in category management, project management, commercialization, or operations may be considered.
- 4-7 years of experience in category management, project management, product commercialization, operations, or cross-functional program execution, preferably in cannabis, CPG, retail, agriculture, or another regulated industry.

- Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to coordinate inputs, drive accountability, and maintain alignment across cultivation, operations, commercial, retail, compliance, and supply chain partners.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate trackers, project plans, launch checklists, and decision documentation.
- Ability to identify risks, escalate issues appropriately, recommend mitigation plans, and keep projects moving despite competing priorities or changing requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize project status, blockers, decisions, and next steps for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities, tight timelines, and a high degree of ambiguity.
