The opportunity

ARENA is building a new Portfolio Delivery & Governance capability to accelerate delivery across technology and the wider business. We are seeking a hands-on Project Manager who can quickly establish and deliver several concurrent initiatives across applications, data, AI, cyber security, finance, HR integration, governance and operational uplift.

This is not a BAU or purely administrative role. You will take ownership of projects from initiation through delivery, adoption and operational handover, working with an engaged group of senior stakeholders and specialist vendors. The governance model is structured but deliberately lightweight: enough discipline to maintain control, without slowing delivery through unnecessary process.

What you will do

• Plan and deliver three to four projects of varying size and complexity concurrently.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, issues, dependencies and change.
• Establish clear governance, reporting, decision-making and escalation arrangements.
• Coordinate business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors and third-party suppliers.
• Keep senior, time-poor stakeholders informed and move decisions forward quickly.
• Support change readiness, benefits realisation, adoption and transition into BAU.
• Contribute to the continued development of ARENA's delivery framework and standards.

• Demonstrated end-to-end delivery of complex technology or business-change projects.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives within a structured governance environment.
• Strong budget, vendor, contract and delivery-performance management capability.
• Broad exposure across applications, integrations, data, digital, security or operational improvement.
• Excellent stakeholder communication, influencing and problem-solving skills.
• An agile mindset, sound judgement and the ability to operate independently from day one.

Location and eligibility

The role can be based in Sydney, Canberra or Melbourne, with Sydney preferred to support team cohesion. ARENA operates a hybrid model requiring three days on site.

The package range is $178,000-$217,000 including superannuation, depending on experience. Australian citizenship and eligibility for a Baseline Security Clearance are required.
