QA Engineer - Backend Testing (Power BI Migration)

We are seeking a Junior to Mid-Level QA Engineer to support a Power BI Migration project, focusing on validating data and ensuring data integrity. This role is crucial for verifying that reports and dashboards accurately reflect migrated data, contributing to the overall success of the project.

Responsibilities:

• Perform backend testing for data migration and reporting solutions.
• Execute data quality testing to validate the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity of migrated data.
• Write and execute SQL queries to validate data and investigate issues.
• Verify Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets against source systems.
• Perform data reconciliation between source and target environments.
• Identify, document, and track defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and business analysts to resolve data-related issues.
• Participate in regression, integration, and release testing.
• Create and maintain test cases, test data, and test documentation.

Qualifications:

• 1–4 years of experience in Software QA, Backend Testing, Database Testing, or a related role.
• Strong SQL skills for querying and validating data.
• Exposure to Power BI and/or Tableau.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic programming or scripting knowledge (Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, or similar).
• Understanding of data migration, ETL, or data warehouse concepts is an advantage.
• Familiarity with SDLC/STLC and defect management tools.
