QA Engineer
Objective:
We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer with strong expertise in airline irregular operations (IROPS) to support the testing and validation of mission-critical airline systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience testing flight disruption, passenger reaccommodation, crew recovery, and airport operations workflows, ensuring high-quality system performance during operational disruptions.
This role requires either professional fluency in both Arabic and English, or prior international work experience in a Western market (e.g. US, UK, Canada, Europe, Australia).
Responsibilities:
- Perform functional testing of airline IROPS systems, including flight disruptions, cancellations, passenger re-accommodation, crew recovery, and delay management.
- Design, execute, and maintain end-to-end (E2E), system integration testing (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT) scenarios.
- Validate business workflows across airline operations and ensure compliance with business requirements.
- Execute regression testing and support test automation activities using Selenium, Playwright, or REST Assured.
- Identify, document, and track defects while performing root cause analysis and validating fixes.
- Collaborate with operations control, airport operations, and IT teams during disruption simulations and testing activities.
- Prepare test documentation, defect reports, and testing progress updates for project stakeholders.
- Support performance and load testing activities for IROPS systems during peak operational scenarios when required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, test coverage, and testing methodologies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in quality assurance within the airline industry, with strong hands-on experience in irregular operations (IROPS) systems.
- Proven experience testing flight disruptions, cancellations, passenger re-accommodation, crew recovery, and delay management workflows.
- Strong hands-on experience with GDS/PSS platforms, preferably Amadeus Altéa or a similar passenger service system.
- Solid understanding of NDC and IATA disruption standards.
- Proven experience executing end-to-end (E2E), system integration testing (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Experience coordinating with operations control, airport operations, and IT teams.
- Strong experience in defect triage, root cause analysis (RCA), and stakeholder reporting.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Selenium, Playwright, or REST Assured for test automation.
- Experience with non-functional and load performance testing.
